Radiator Hose Leak

So early last month I was driving my Supra home from school when I saw the temperature gauge start climbing rather high, and steam coming out from under the hood. Thankfully it was not too far from my house, or things could have been worse. I opened up the hood and there was coolant coming off the top radiator hose leading to the engine, right where it connected. (I'll post pictures to help y'all see what I'm getting at if necessary.)
First, is the car driveable in this state, and second, is this something I can fix myself as opposed to taking it to a repair shop? I think that the car might blow up if I do try to take it anywhere.
Thanks!

dont drive it overheated it will blow a head gasket or worse
make sure the coolant is topped off and if its still has the original spring clamps you can try changing them
to the worm clamp type
keep an eye on the gauge if its starts doing it again it has another issue
