I love watching everybodies drag race videos, but there is no one repository for everybodies best pass at the track. Post a video of your best pass here. Mine isn't super fast in today's standards but I'll start.
This is the video I sent to Ara after treeing his ass in final round. I didn't want him to forget how bad he got tree'ed the next time we lined up together. I hope the link works, I'm a computer indiot. I tried posting some pictures of a new lip that we just finished but I don't know how to make the pictures any smaller so I will try and figure out how to do that today as well.
Damn you sure did!! The car looks a bit squirly... must get the adrenaline pumping.
Chris.
Getting lose in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear never seems to be any issue, 4th gear is tough to get loose in if you are near the wall and in the marbles and 5th gear is a pain in the ass no matter where you are. I have driven a few tube chassis style cars with all different kinds of powerplants in them. When it gets sideways in first and second I never lift, 3rd depends on how sideways it gets but so far I have not had to lift and fourth and fifth I have only stayed in it when it's my own car.
Sometimes it will just make a hard move and drive the wrong direction and when you do that you have no choice but to abort the run. I know most of you guys drive street style cars and I guess I don't have that much experience when it comes to driving one of those, at least not at the speeds that all you guys are doing. The fastest street car I have ever driven is probably a 10 second car. I'm amazed at how stable these cars look when I watch them though, I thought that they would be a lot more out of control at these speeds but they appear to go down the track quite easily. I'm amazed at teh speeds of these cars today, I would never have imagined in a million years that you guys would be going this fast.

I finally got my car in the 9's this year, and I have made several passes with it, and I have never had to steer it yet. But that's of course with drag radials in the rear. With slicks it's a whole different ball game. I agree, first and 2nd aren't too scary, but at the top end it could be getting loose for all sorts of reasons some which could be really bad if you stay in it. But hey, that's why you get paid the big bucks.
seeing all the vids and pics from vegas..definatly makes me wanna save up and take a trip to SILV one year. even if i don't own a supra just to come watch. until then i have tx2k in my home town so hopefully i'll get to meet some of you guys there.
I know is not a record for 6-speed or anything, but this is a 9.47 pass in a 6-speed with a 76 gts small turbo, number 1 piston fried in 4th gear due to pump failure.
Someone called me today and said that they were using the video with Ara and I to practice there reaction times. He said he would let it play and hit the pause button when he would leave and everytime he tried it the truck was already moving. He swears that i have to be anticipating the light coming down and that it's impossible to see the yellow light and leave that fast. I never leave before I see yellow but I told him that I was on my game that day and that was actually a .008 reaction time, Ara's reaction that round was a .268. There is a story going around that Larry Dixon thinks they should add the reaction time to the ET total. What do you guys think of that? It would at least make some more sense for the fans that don't understand how a faster car loses sometimes but I don't think it's a good idea really. I think reaction time is something that a lot of the drivers like to showcase.

I agree, alot of people don't quite get it. I wouldn't change it based on that though. For the people that do get it, it always makes it interesting to see who is quick on the line.....Craig, for as long as I can remember, you have been one of those guys! Quick at the tree!

I don't think that would be a good thing. But if it did happen, several Supras that leave late on the tree consistently but still get good ET's would have to do a much better job on the tree.

Thanks Craig for posting the video. You definitely beat him because of your time out of the hole. YOU DID GOOD!!! He was starting to come up on you pretty fast towards the end of the quarter... You really slicked him...haha...
