MkI Supra Buyer's Tips

Hi all,

I'm looking into buying a Mk I Supra, probably early next year -- I get that the Mk I isn't really the greatest model in the series by any means, but the rarity of this generation and the body style has me hooked. I'm looking for something quirky, relatively inexpensive, and hopefully reliable.

My last car was a '90 Audi V8 Quattro, which was an absolute nightmare to maintain and a certifiable moneypit. The biggest problem was sourcing parts; a simple rad hose could cost $200. I'm looking to avoid repeating the same experience, which is why I'm really doing my homework this time over before I buy the first Mk I Supra I find on Craigslist or wherever ...

Any advice is welcome.

A few specific questions I have:
How readily available are parts for this generation?
Do parts interchange between the MkI and Mk2?
Are there specific problems I should be on the look out for? Rust-prone areas, perhaps?
How reliable is the A40D autobox? As I'll probably be looking for an automatic ... just a driving preference.

Thanks!

Oh and BTW, here's two examples in my locale for sale. Just to give an example of what I'd consider buying.
