Sounds like a BS rumor to me. Who do you know would put over 100K into a car and throw the title down on the line for a race where anything can happen, thus possibly wasting 100K+ to make it on a TV show?

If it's true and you are required to hand over the title if you lose, he'd be a moron for doing it for reasons stated above.

I think a lot of cars on Methanol can smoke woon. Look at Errol at TPS car. Of course Woon is on a 6 spd, but hey, thats his choice.

There are a lot of 6 and 7 second street sleepers out there as well. Most are unheard of, because they are brought out, on trailers for money races. Some of these cars are considered street cars, because technically, they can be registered although most going quicker than Woon are running a spool. For those that say a spool is not streetable, I disagree, streetable is whatever you make of it. Driving grandma around comfortably is another story entirely. I would not run a spool on the street, but I can honestly say I've seen 3 or 4 cars drive around on a spool.

Well even though I think it's a lame ass show and I kinda hate it, I still watch them since I'm a sucker for anything automotive, good or bad or horrible ...well almost anything, I find all the NASCAR shit on Speed hard to watch other than the races and even some of those are not to my liking.

I also think that it would be an absurd risk for RW so I find it hard to believe this will happen ...even though there is the negotiation aspect so if he has to run say a 7sec car he can try to negotiate enough of a spot... I still doubt it unless the rumors of people being able to buy there cars back for a buck might be true but then that would eventually become common knowledge and wreck the entire premise of the show. I bet it's a false rumor.

Do you guys realize how the show works? They give each other lengths...they haggle back and forth until they feel it will be a fair race. I could go on there in a dead stock toyota corolla and kick his ass! The speed of the car doesn't matter.

Noted, but like I said before; ANYTHING can happen. What happens if he were to break on the launch? I don't see it being worth it, and I would hope that he would too.

Doesn't that defeat the purpose. I'd hate to give someone 3 lengths only to have him beat me by 1 and take my car. Yikes!

How it works on the show is like this.

1st race - you race heads up, and if you know your car is faster you'll easily beat them.

2nd race - if you won the first race give the other guy whatever they want, then you sandbag it in the 2nd race and let him beat you badly.

3rd race - you give him barely any car lengths cause he beat you by so many last race ;) and then hand him his ass and take his car.

At least that's what I get from watching the show, would be badass to see a Supra on there. Don't really like the show, but watch it when there is nothing else on.

There will be an episode with a full drag civic vs big turbo RX7 coming up. worth watching. I know the guy with the RX7 but youll have to watch to find out the outcome.
