lately my winter beater 87 N/A on start up i notice the break light and red battery lights on also volt meter at 12V

then as soon as i floor it and get the RPM above 4500 it goes away
and the Volt meter jump to 14V as normal

today i floor it as usual and the lights stays on and voltmeter stuck at 12V

im thinking voltage regulator and alternator????????????????/

Sounds like the regulator, but could be the alternator. Generally, its best to replace the alernator, as by the time it starts giving you trouble, other components inside it are worn too, and just waiting to fail.

Get a 'good' quality one from a reputable parts house. Aske about their warranty, 1 year, lifetime, etc. :respekt:

While in there, clean the terminals and battery really well :)
