I just want to introduce myself and say thanks to the folks at HPF. I'm nearing the end of a year long project building a red 1988 7mgte with JE forged pistons bored .030 over stock, race preped rods, hks 2mm stopper type head gasket, mildy ported stock head with stock cams and cam gears, unorthodox harmonic balancer, turbonetics t66 turbo and have just added 3" downpipe, high flow cat and tanabe catback system, spearco intercooler, walbro fuel pump, rc enginering 550cc injectors. I'm using sds fuel management, and I am just putting the finishing touches on adding a plx wideband setup (r-500)/data logger. I got alot of the parts through HPF and the service and advice have been awsome thanks guys. The only complaint throughout this process was with DHL delivering my brand new exhaust with three brand new dents in it. Anyway great forum I learn alot just reading the posts

Thanks... We appreciate you. If the dents are more than just little dings or the box shows damage, we can certainly issue a damage claim. Let us know. And keep us posted with how everything turns out.
Take care,
Chris.

Nice to have you here, Mitch. That's a pretty potent package you're putting together there.

Thanks for the welcome. I should be able to put some pics up sometime in the next week or so. The car was making 411 rwhp before the guy I got it from melted the top of the JE pistons that were in it. I've done a complete rebuild on it since then and added a lot of upgrades. I'm hoping to make 450 to 500 rwhp. I should have it through emissions and on the road by New years.

Welcome, sounds like It should be fast, I'd like to know what kind of numbers it'll do at the strip. How much was the build cost?

I won't have strip numbers until summer as the tracks are all shut down. I got a good deal on the car. the guy I bought it from had reciepts for about 15,000 which I got with the car. He fried the pistons and couldn't afford to keep going on it. I gave him 4,000 and my 89 na targa for it. I've put another 8 to 10 grand into the rebuild and added parts. A lot of the money he put into it maybe 40% was for labor as he was having other people do the work.

Those labor charges can really add up, it would be nice to have the time and space to work on your own car. I'm building a 40x70 shop next year, I will finally have the space to get some projects going.
Your car looks clean, are you done making horsepower or do you have plans for more? the stage 5 kit from HPF said around 500 hp, so your pretty close to that.
