Just totalled my 91 Supra. My fault and I'm sick about it, but it saved my life. Another three feet and the 18 wheel dirt hauler would have missed. Before and after pics are included. My baby had only 97K original miles. Kaminari front airdam was added in 1999 as was a complete replacement of the sound system. In 2000, Kinesis 17" rims and tires were added. The exterior was stripped to bare metal and repainted in 2003. Last year I had the seat inserts recovered with a charcoal gray tweed as well as recovering the interior panels in the original style. Essentially it was almost a new car. Anyone care to venture what it was really worth as my insurance company thinks it was worth the average price?

I'm posting this because someone might be able to get some parts off the wreck in Abilene, TX soon. I'll post the final location after I settle with the insurance company.

damn, that sucks and I bet you are hurting big time that you lost your pride and joy. I don't want to be a buzzard flying over the dead but is the engine from your car still intact? if so let me know, i live here in miami but I can maybe arrange something with you to see what we can do about the hardware that is still salvagable from the wreck. let me know whats up.

Ouch, times like those it is nice to be driving the tank of a MK3. Glad you're OK

Appreciate the sentiments...I know you Supraphiles understand and I don't think anyone is a vulture. I know what it's like to try and find parts for these cars...that's why I posted this thread.

Please be patient...the car is still in some holding compound until I settle with the insurance adjuster.

I won't control what happens or what parts will be available because it will belong to the insurance company...all I may be able to do is post the location/name of junkyard it ends up in and maybe a phone number.

The truck's back trolley (4 wheels went diagonally over the front bumper toward the driver's side post (33,000 lbs empty weight). The hood was so messed up the appraiser couldn't see how much of the stuff on the driver's side of the engine bay was crushed so I don't know how much of the engine is salvageable. Basically, the right quarter panel to the back and the driver door to the back are intact except the airbag is blown. Even some of the trim molding on the left quarter panel could be used again.

Thanks antman. I'm still in mourning. Yes, physically I did OK. Wish I had .5 seconds of that part of my life to do over...that's all it would have taken and I'd still be driving the Supra without a scratch on it. Of course, .5 seconds the other way and I'd be emailing with the angels.

The car was released to to the insurance company last Friday. They say the parts can be found on the following website:

http://copart.com/

Good luck...I'd like to think part of my Supra will help one of you Supraphiles.

I couldn't find it yet either...I think you can search by location so try an Abilene Tx parts location?

too bad you released it to the insurance company. if you have the time to remove stuff, buying it back and parting it out would have more than doubled what you got for it.

Yup...I know it was worth more as parts than what I got from the insurance company. However, I got a premium price from them since I had all the documentation and I needed quick closure for a number of reasons.

Yeah man I know how you feel. I totaled my 91 about a year and half ago and I wanted to die myself. I was lucky to be alive though. I hit a tree going atleast 50mph. I went straight away and found an 89 that looked just like it though. Now I've gone and blown the head gasket on it though. Just a note to those out there rebuilding mk3 motors....factory specs on the head bolt aren't tight enough. So I'm using any parts off of it that I need to, but if anyone is looking for anything specific let me know and I might be able to help you out.

Thanks for the reply Cheech. You nailed the feeling of losing the Supra correctly.

Now I'm driving a big red pickup. It's just not the same even though it is more practical on the small farm I retired to. My relatives called the Supra the "Farm Car" because it was so out of place where I live.

I'm driving my wife mad also because I started looking at new Mustangs. I don't like the 1/4 window on the fastback but can buy louvers to cover them. I downloaded a red one from a website and touched it up with a paint program to show the wife. Her comment was..."looks an awful lot like a Supra!" My comment was ya...and the front end looks like the old 67 Mustang I used to own in college...best of both worlds (if I can't have my baby back).

Cheech - let me know if you have any interior parts in the dark grey shade. I doubt it because the late white cars had blue interiors, but LMK anyway. Email me direct at suprarossa@aol.com and I'll give you a list of what I'm looking for. Thanks

RBE - from personal experience, keep looking but keep your distance from the new Mustang - at least until they have most of the bugs worked out. My wife's '05 V6 5 speed is going back next week thanks to the Lemon Law

Suprarossa,

My 91 had the dark gray interior. It was all intact after the accident except the airbag. The seat cover inserts and door panels were recovered with a very nice dark gray tweed (searched all over the country for the original fabric with no luck). The plastic pieces were in excellent shape. See if you can find them in the link I posted after signing the wreck over to insurance.

As for the Mustang...sorry you had a problem. My father retired from Ford/New Holland and still sells iron at age 79. He once told me to never buy a new car early in the model year or a white one...wait till they work out the kinks and the white cars were the ones that some flaw in the sheet metal (probably no longer a problem in an age of robot assembly lines).
