Hello All

As it seems like this is the only forum that does not have an Mk III FFIM thread I'm going to start the first here :)

Earlier this year my Engine bay actually won first prize for the nicest Mk III engine bay at the first ever united European Supra meet, here is a picture of how it looked back then:

A FFIM have always been on my wish list and last week I got a big package from Ron Ramirez, which was a FFIM kit made with short runners in order to gain a little more top end flow. Ron is a very nice and helpful guy and when it comes to making a Mk III FFIM he is the guy to contact - what a beautiful manifold he have made and fitment is perfect. I'm going to run it with a Q45 TB and a nice 24"x12"x4" IC and some nice piping. As you can see on the following pictures there are a "few" minor tasks to be completed before I hit the dyno again :)

Here is a few pictures of initial test fitting before the many other tasks start:

At the same time I will do the following:

- Change the routing of all electrical wires so they run hided as much as possible.
- Remove ABS completely
- Move battery to the trunk.
- Remove cruise control completely.
- Paint engine bay.
- Polish new FFIM
- Make some nice polished 3" SS piping for the new IC.
- Move a few other parts like fuse box and so.

I intend to update this thread from time to time with progress pictures so you guys can get some inspiration during the cold winter months :)

Greetings from Denmark

Looks good Karsten, Ron's manifolds are a work of art. Hopefuly someday I'll be able to add one to my car. Can't wait to see it all finished up, and see how you dyno.

Thanks for the kind words; hopefully it will be ready for dyno around xmas as the car has to be test mule for our new dyno. I'm shooting for low 600 numbers with about 30 Psi of boost. As it is going to be via a TH400 box I'm not sure how much power I will loose in drive train loss.

I'm also looking into my fuel system as I have seen starvation above 20 Psi, I guess it is time for bigger injectors/fuel rail/fuel lines.

BTW the car should be on 7Mpower shortly when the site get updated next time.

Ron Ramirez is a long time and well known member of the Supra community, I don't know if he is here yet but I will give him a call. He is also the owner of a very nice Mk III.

He is the same guy who did the FFIM sitting on Duane's car - mine is actually a copy of that particular unit.

I guess every kit is different as it is made individually for your specific needs but I paid around 1k $ including everything. Also, shipping to Denmark is not cheap.

I think this is a very good prize compared to what you have to pay for an Mk IV FFIM.

I am sure with the short intake you will gain loads on top end! I really wanted that type of intake but I also wanted to keep the battery up front......
