: Brake Master Cylinder?

Alright, for a while now, my brakes have been feeling like there is air in the lines, but I've have bled the system twice now, and the pedal feel has not chaged at all. I was assuming it was the master cylinder, (no i was not loosing fluid at all) many people where I work (GM Dealership) agreed with me. So I ordered one through my work, which they got from CarQuest, a discount auto parts store. I get it the next day and in stall it, now while i'm bleeding the brakes, I find that there is no pressure to the back brakes....so i'pm very pissed, since I had equal pressure all around when I had bled them with the original master in there. So i bring it back and get my money back... but i find out that they can't get me another one untill the following tuesday... it was now saturday. so i said no way, and try other places around town... but no one carries it, except... AUTOZONE has one, just down the street. so i said ok, they deliver it same day to my work, but guess what... it's the wrong one!! it has a triangular bolt pattern the bolts it to the brake boost... mine is a rectangular pattern. So I'm calling everywhere again.... and it seems like the only place that has one is an hour drive away.... so I go get that after work... I get home and start bleeding the master per the tsrm... it seems to be working better, since the first one i had tried barely had any fluid coming out the side fitting on the master. So I finish doing that, put the lines on, tighten them down, get under the car and start to do the bleeding..... still nothing coming out the back......WTF.......... I want to drive my car... with more than parking and front brakes...I am confused on what it would be... idk how something could have been messed up while i was doing the install.....it doesn't make sence to me... My car has ABS by the way... maybe it could have something to do with that? or some type of valve in the braking system? any suggestions would be great. thank you.

Cars with ABS will require significant brake bleeding to get them clear. I've also never had any luck with remanufactured brake master cylinders from the cookie-cutter auto parts stores. I prefer to buy the Toyota rebuild kit and clean the original and re-seal it. I had to do that to my Mr2 ~2 years ago and it's still going strong. If you have scouring inside the bore you probably will need to replace it though

modern cars today are highly dependent to electronic aids which reminds the driver if there are errors on the components of the car. However in some occurrence it needs human thinking to know what is wrong with the car and knowing how to fix it. The brake master cylinder (http://www.racepages.com/parts/master_cylinder.html) is an integral component which is composed of valves that pushes the calipers however when there are no pressure along the hydraulic lines of the brake it may never work.

Anything abs takes a rediculous amount of bleeding especially to the rear as fluid must travel twice as far. Secondly check for collapsed rubber lines in the rear. And make sure you fully bleed the master cylinder before installing brake limes to it.
