I've been a Kumho guy, but after Matt's SCC performance last year have been looking to try the Pilot Sport Cups. Hoosiers are out just because I can't be doing 1 event on a set of tires...

I like Victor Racers also. I haven't tried many other R compounds though

Has anyone tried the Avon Tech-R?

I've never seen Avon's in the right sizes. I still run on stock wheels, would want at least 275R and 255F. So I've been thru a few sets of Victoracers and they are very good in my opinion ...but not the ultimate hardcore track tire I'm sure. I just corded my present set last time at an SCCA event at Pocono, so I'm going to try a set of the Kumho V710's about which I've, seen, heard and read nothing but good reports.

On the street, a few tire sets ago I had the Kumho V700's and while they were pretty sticky most of the time, I just didn't like the way the tire felt. Now I'm using Pirelli Corsa's, also an R compound, on my 18" street wheels, 285/30R and 255/35F and I really REALLY love them after putting a couple thousand miles on them so far. Actually I don't think I'd like them on the track, the tire body is not nearly as stiff as the Victoracers, but on the street that makes them feel sort of plush to me and great traction.
