gas in the oil need help

just had my oil changed 2 days ago and it smells like gas. also i just had a metal hg put in my engine like 2 weeks ago so im thinking it could be something my mechanic did. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Running over rich? PCV valve clogged? How was the cross hatch when the head was pulled?

how bad is it? if you car is turbo, its very likely that you have almost a full quart of OLD oil left in your oil gallies, filter housing, oil cooler and associated lines/hoses. so, this leftover oil is undoubtedly going to contaminate you fresh oil. so the second you start you car with new oil, it mixes w/ the old oil. your new oil will now be golden with a tinge of brown and may take on the fuel/exhaust smell that old oil has.

have you done a compression test lately?

you might have to flush all the oil out and change it again

yeah, but thats a bit tough to get out all the oil left in the oil gallies and oil coolng system.

thx for all the replies but im just taking it in to the shop because the turbo needs rebuilding anyways and im too lazy to do it myself;)

turned out to be a leaky injector. time to throw in so bigger ones!;)

were the injectors maxed out? or was the seal just shot?

if the fuel injectors were leaking fuel, they would be leaking at the pintle and seat. probably a bit of dirt stuck in the seat that keeps the injector pintle from fully closing. RX7's are notorious for this problem and typically flood out shortly after shutting the car off, especially cold starts.
