Even after all these years I've never posted online pics of it anywhere that I can remember, so I hope this works ;)

https://home.comcast.net/~nickjt/smellslikeRockyuphere.jpg

I got it in 1999 when it was pure stock with 15k miles on it, I am the second and final owner. After the first year, I did the BPU route and I'm still on that so the mods are:

Greddy BCC
Greddy boost gauge in center AC vent
RMM 3" downpipe
TRD filter element in stock airbox
TRD front strut brace
TRD gen2 catback exhaust
HKS hardpipe kit on stock SMIC
HKS triple disc clutch w/lightweight flywheel
Blitz SBCiD boost controller
Racelogic traction control
not too aggressive street/track alignment and corner weighted
Veilside 18" EvoV wheels, 9-1/2"F and 10-1/2"R

About five years ago a local bunch of Supra wackos had a dyno day at Powertrip in NJ where I trashed the stock clutch on my first try and had to stop the pull just over 350whp. A couple months later after doing the HKS clutch, I dyno'd 435rwhp/455rwtq so it's pretty healthy. I've been beating on it since but the stock twins just don't seem to wanna die yet. I don't drag race it, but may likely even do that one day. I do those HPDE track days a few times a year, at Pocono and Watkins Glen, and I love that kind of driving challenge ...not on the Evo wheels, I use the stock wheels with race rubber at the track events. More Supra owners should do these track events, that's what the car was made for.

Thanks guys. Sometimes it's not as clean as it looks there, since I drive it as often as possible; it was in my driveway two nights ago when it rained at night and today I drove it to work a little dirty ...as most of you can relate, even in that condition I still get many looks and thumbs up and every other week or so somebody will holler over if it's for sale ...I usually say "over my dead body" hoping they don't pull out a gun and take me up on that. I'll look for more good pics when I get home today and even a pic or two of just me for Jim so he can see how I look.

Here's a little "action shot"

Jim,
I will likely be coming up to the good old Pacific NW during or after next Spring, not sure exactly when yet, since my daughter and her best friend, both of them graduated from college a couple years ago with degrees in Fine Arts and believe it or not, they're actually making a living on their own and don't ask me for money! ...anyway a couple months ago they both moved out of their trendy downtown Philadelphia place and moved to a five acre spread in Olympia Washington. She loves it there so far, says she can see snow-capped Mt. Rainier and the Puget Sound from her house and will be raising chickens and some ducks. I love Peking Duck, too.

Wow Nick your daughter and us are practically neighbors. We will have to have one of our Centralia Supra MG&E's while you are here as that is just a few miles from "OLY." Be sure to keep us apprised of when you are coming this way so we all can get together with you... If you know a little a head of time let us know so we will have time to plan... We are about 60 miles from Olympia...

But now the rainy season is starting...haha... She might not like that part...

Looks like venition blinds on your headlamps...haha... Nice picture... Put up more when you get time.

Jim,
For sure I'll let you know when I'm coming. I would be great to see fellow Supra nuts from so far away.

T-J,
HPDE = high performance driving event ...basically those track days also called DE driving events, when a group rents a track usually for a weekend, you pay, you drive as fast as you can trying not to crash into anybody or anything. Some of the groups who rented Pocono and/or Watkins Glen when I've run are like NASA (National Auto Sports Assoc), PDA (Performance Drivers Assoc), Viper Club, other car owner groups like Porsche, Audi. I'm not sure what part of the country you're from, NASA is nationwide but I think PDA is mostly the N.E. U.S. Here's a couple links if you search around you'll see what it's about ...or please ask me any question you want since I'd love to encourage more Supra owners to do these kind of events. There are many such groups who rent tracks all around the country and run such events. Hey, maybe I'll start a thread listing as many as I can ...I'll do that soon.

nice pics, i like the first pic you have with the supra over looking the city

Thanks. That pic is at the top of the steps to the Phila Art Museum. I think in the first Rocky movie, that's the steps he ran up with his arms raised triumphantly as he was jogging around training for the fight with Apollo Creed. I'm not a Rocky fan at all, but now we have to live with a statue of that pose somewhere around here ...I think it's in back of the Spectrum sports arena. I'm sure there is a good amount of pigeon shit on the statue by now too ...I doubt it's eagle shit but there are actually some eagles not far away, too ;)

how did u get it on teh top of the steps? i doubt u just drove up there....havent been to hte museum..but thats a pretty crazy backdrop... was there some sort of ramp somewhere? might go down take some pics

I knew from many previous visits to the Museum that if you drive up the ramp from the East River Dr. and then behind the Museum, they usually have an attendant there collecting a few bucks to park right behind the Museum. If you keep driving around in the parking lot back on the one lane path that is on the river side, it goes down that side of the Museum and then around to the front where there are a few more parking spots. If you go to exit from that area, you have to drive right past the front of the Museum and that spot in my picture and then around the other side of the Museum before you get back to the entrance of the parking area and out.

On the day we took the pics, I met another Supra bud around back, then I talked to the attendant ...of course he was impressed seeing a couple Supras... to let us just drive around front without paying just to take a couple shots for a few minutes, so he let us. Actually that pic was taken by either my Supra bud Mike or his sister who was with him. We have some other shots too, but that's the one I like best.

In a nutshell, even if the attendant won't let you go for free, if you pay the parking fee you can legally drive right to that spot. Don't let your car fall down the steps, that can be messy ;)

OK, by popular demand ...well at least for Jim's entertainment... here's a couple pics with my mug in them:

That's me on the right with my 10yo boy ...Mike's the other Supra guy and his sister took some of these pics

I guess I should have tried to edit this next one to a smaller size but it would take me a week to learn how to do that so here in practically full life size:

I was trying to smell this person's feet and one of those giant alligators who live in the sewers under Philadelphia jumped out and tried to eat me:

Okay Nick I get the picture...haha...J/k... Thanks for putting up your pictures...

I wonder if anyone besides me seems to develop a picture of each person behind every nickname, even though it is an in the mind sketchy picture? Then when we see a real picture of the person they don't seem to look anything like what our minds had imagined.

I wish everyone had to have a picture of themself up as well as a picture of their car and where they are from... I am always looking to see where a person is from for some reason or rather. I guess I like to feel that we are all part of the same family even if it is just a Supra family and I like to know the members of the family without feeling like I am prying in to anyones personal life. I also wish that people at Vegas wore name tags showing their forums nickname and then their real name so we could put names to faces. Oh sure most of us know the more famous people of the Supra family but then there are so many more who remain obscure. Even here in the PacNW Supras group when we get together I don't know all of the people that we will see from time to time at different get togethers.

Oh well...

Jim, now I'm curious what you thought I would look like. Any comment?

Btw, I will try to resize my huge photo files and change my link to those so it is not larger than life ...like I am ;)

Nick since seeing your picture I have lost that "in my mind" image... and my memory now only recalls the picture of you seen herein...haha...

When making the statement about the images we form in our minds of people from their posts I wasn't necessarily just referring to you but to all of the different people we relate to here and on other forums... Don't you form images of people that you relate to on the forums from reading what they say. I do know it seems like I am always surprised when I get to meet the many diferent people in person...haha... I for some reason or rather feel a lot closer to the differernt people I have associated with on MMC. Maybe that is because it was a much smaller group.

Hey Jim, whazzup?

I was hoping it died until you resuscitated it again ;) I thought the intent of this thread was sort of an introduction --- say hi, show your car ...and if requested your face... and then get the hell out.
