New personal best Saturday night and a new Record for 76gts

60 - 1.40
1/8- 6.1 @ 116

It took us awhile to get this car back together, but we finally managed just a few days before the meet with whole new setup. We ran all weekend and without riding the clutch and keeps bogging out the hole and ran consistant 10.2-10.3 at 148 mph, this pass we raised the 2 step from 5700 rpm to 6500 rpm and finally got out the hole and cut a 1.4 60. But came at a price, one of my fuel pumps took a crap, leaned out pretty bad and fried number 1 piston in 4th gear. Car has alot more to go, we gonna try to get it back out in 2 weeks and go for a complete pass and it should go 9.2X and over 150 mph off the bottle, then the bottle will go on. Here is my current setup.

Virtual Works turbo system 76mm GTS
Virtual Works Intake Manifold
Virtual Works Custom Triple intank Triple Pumps
Virtual Works Driveshaft
Virtual Works Pro Series Head
Tilton Clutch
28/10.5/15 Mickey ET Drags w/ Bogart wheels
HKS 272
West Coast Racing Short block (Bullet proof, just not 14:1 Proof )
TRD LSD

In such short period of time, this was a combine effort of alot of people. I like to give thanks to Ben for helping me tune the car, Elliott for all your help last minute putting it back together, MP Motorsports for letting us use their shop on moments notice and hooking me up with all the parts on the car, Cody for putting in the LSD, Saad for helping me figure out the problem to begin with (blow off valve) and getting my car back to the shop afterwards, and lastly a real special thanks for Tony Orta (the King of MKIII)and all the boys at Final Stage Motorsports for putting this complete car together in such a short notice, if wasn't for Tony, the car never would've made it, sorry Tony for taking up soo much of your time, wish you had more time to work on your car and get that turd into the 9's.

Next time out we gonna put on a bigger exhaust housing and spray it finally. And enough time hopefully finally put a cage in so It'll go straighter, but regardless this thing will be in the 8's very soon.

Congrats on the time, but that sucks that you fried a piston.

Looks like you're on the right track. Keep us posted on your next race with the new motor.

Take care,
Chris.

Congrats again Jack...there is no doubt in my mind you will pick up .5 off of your current number, and I'll be you will be consistant too. After all.....adding .4 liters and 200hp...obviously doesn't make you consistant or run 8's:)

We ripped it apart today, and does not look good, number 1 piston looks like just went through 10 rounds with the devil himself. Hopefully 40 over will do it, but looks it will take longer then 2 weeks now, but the last track in Vegas is first week of december, and hopefully we'll make it before it closes.
