Never really worked with belts before, alternator belt seems to be loose. How do I tighten it?

Thanks :eusa_eh:

Loosen the bolts holding the alternator, then get someone to pull up as hard as they can on the alternator and then well they are doing that tighten the bolts back up.

Yea Jonez you were right, that super sweet tensioner was super easy! Just loosened the main bolt/nut holding the alternator, and tightened the nut, wala, belt tightened, no more squeakin! Thank you :)

That just goes to show how long it's been since I worked on my car, I forgot there was a tightener. I'm used to my bro's Mustang :snork_lac

what the shit...

that tensioner is bad as hell, how can you forget it! i loosen up that pivot bolt and yank up on the alternator with all i got... the front of the car picks up like an inch or 2. you could play a freakin tune on the alternator belt when i get done with it!

the belt that i have trouble with is the PS belt... there really isnt a good way to get any leverage on that turd to tension the belt. i have to cheat and pry agaisnt the water pump... the other way i can do it, is with 2 people... i have to get under the car, put a prybar/screwdriver in the slot on the bottom hinge of the mount, and pry sideways. then, someone above the car can tighten the lock bolt... gay PS pump.
