Damn, got me by 1! Was clocked at 95 in a 45, but the officer wrote 65 in a 55. I was in high school at the time and testing out my mother's camry on a wide 4-lane road at 2am on a Sunday morning. (I did discover the camry had a governor around 112 or 116...)

Heh, I was in a 96 saturn driving through an industrial area flying past trucks. I acted like i was all scared when he pulled me over and he put it down as doing 65 in a 45 and my ticket was only 136$ cause it was my first offense. wo0t!

I've just got to say +1 for traffic school. I managed to get tickets that were spaced out 18-months apart... Online traffic school was just coming out then and you could easily cheat and skip ahead to the tests. A 8-hour course could be done with in 15 minutes lol

I was going 140kmph in a 90kmph and I got a huge ticket :( but then it got cheaper when I went to pay it and I still don't know why. Must be because I'm cool :D

Not to say I haven't gotten any since, but the "worst" I ever got was 31 years ago ..haahhahhaa before many of you were even born.... I was crossing from NJ to PA over the Scudder Falls Bridge of I-95 in the '67 XKE Jag Roadster I owned back then and the NJ trooper said he clocked me over 120mph on the 50mph bridge. I told him I felt the bridge move and was afraid it was falling down, but he didn't buy it. I got pissed after getting the ticket so I hit over 150mph later on down I-95 on my way home that night and didn't get stopped, but I almost had a heart attack since just as I hit about 150 the center latch of the convertible roof popped open and the sudden wind/pressure noise was so loud I thought the whole car exploded.

Btw, back in those "good old days" it was possible to have such tickets pulled from the system and not even show up on your record ...so this one was one of literally thousands, mostly parking, that disappeared.

First one was 78 in a 55 in my old Toyota truck. Since it was my first one, the cop was cool and knocked it down to 64 in a 55... $50 fine and 1 pt.

140mph in a 55mph zone. however the cop was really cool and dropped to a 90 in a 55. i still had a hefty fine but it saved me from losing my license.

41MPH in a 25=$115 ticket. One more reason why Hawaii sucks. That was my only ticket. The good thing is that if you have an out of state license in HI the ticket never hits your record.

doing 140mph in 60mph zone. The cop said I was pulling away when he was trying to catch up with me at 100mph. Since he never clocked me I ended up with drag racing ticket. Lets not talk about the price.

I've had some violations reduced so that no points show on my record but you pay the fine anyway ...assuming your State has the points system if they all don't by now...

To have the offense reduced, I think you have to have an otherwise pretty clean driving record and cop a plea with a "reasonable" excuse as to why you were caught speeding. For example, last time I did it, immediately prior to my hearing in front of the judge, the police officer who wrote the ticket and I met in a room, I said I was sorry I did in fact speed but that I was driving with my family behind a line of slow cars and trucks and for safety reasons with all the trucks around I wanted to get around them. I added "I'm sorry if that was bad judgement, but that's why I did it". Sounds kind of lame, but it worked. The officer accepted it, said he would recommend to the judge to settle for the lesser offense, which is how it went down. No points just the fine.

about the points system...i live in nj and i know there is a points system but i heard from a friend that theres like a tri-state area points system...like for pa, ny, and nj...if you get a ticket or points in one of those states...it transfers over..like since im in nj and i get a ticket in pa...the points count on my license anyways...not sure if there is anything like that or not...hopefully not...just seein if anyone knows anything about that :hihi:

As far as I know, there is "reciprocity" between many States, and PA-NJ-NY for sure. So yes, if you get points in a State that has reciprocity with the State where you're licensed, the points will show.

yeah, considering, that if hes stopped, it takes him almost 1/2 mile to get to 120, and the cars w/ light bars top out at 140. shit, maybe only the slick tops can go 140... i forget. the vic's are slow as balls, like 16's in the 1/4. if hes in oncoming traffic, thats another mark in your favor.

just make sure that you dont continue in the same path as he last saw you... cuz its true; you Cant outrun the motorola, but you CAN out maneuver the motorola...

the crown vics top out at 129 while the older caprices topped out around 140. i have no idea what the impalas top out at. theyre all slow as shit though.

which vic's top out at 129? the slick-tops or the light bar units? i know a few coppers, and they hate the vic's. they are total pieces of dung. one of the guys has had his car in the shop for tranny work 3 times already. from what i understand, the cops miss the Caprice's alot. those were way better than the vic's. the FWD impalas are garbage and slow as balls.

it gives specs for the crown vic, the impala, the intrepid, camaro and some other stuff, take a look you'll def learn something...i know i did...i know the hardest car to outrun will be the camaro...good thing there arent any where i live.. :snork_tan

I may be mistaken on this, but I think the Impalas still have the factory governor on them, which limits top speed to like 106 or 112. Not sure, but I think I remember hearing that. Plus with all the extra crap on them, it sounds about right.

Got one in the Supra back in the spring. 95 in a 60 in a construction zone that was marked down to like 50. Got out of it of course. Got the insane lawyer that everyone I know uses in Raleigh. Andrew K. Sandman...check him out if you live here. Got pulled a few years back, in the '93 Sentra I had fixed up, doing 95 in a 55. He didnt give me squat! I've lost the cops all the other times!:moon: They cant drive worth $hit!

One night, when I was in college, we were heading down to A/C. (this was back in 91 probably). I had two drunk fools w/ me and I was cruising about 80-90 on AC Expressway with a car on my tail. Asked my friend what kind of car was behind me and he said it's a caddy so I floored it and changed lanes to get away from this guy but he didn't fall that far behind. Just as I was thinking that this ain't some old man in a caddy going gambling the lights came on. He harrased the shit out of us, searched the car, gave me the DWI test and wrote me a ticket for 135. How he didn't take me away that night is beyond me. Went to A/C, partied my ass off and kept delaying the court case and eventually I never heard from them again and I've been pulled over in Jersey many times since then and there does not seem to be any record or warrant, I guess I got real lucky.

There's a guy around here who used to street race in the 80's and early 90's named Neil (nickname Rottentop), I believe he got written up for 172 in Ct. by Lime Rock Park in an RX-7. They didn't let him go though, LOL. That's the highest I have ever heard of someone being ticketed for. I think he was trying to scrub some tires for someone racing one memorial day weekend and he went a little too crazy.

83 in a 55, thats BEST of the six. I was doing 110 before that, he clocked me when i was coasting. Right after the cop gave me my "award" and turned around, I got back on the highway and started to pass all the cars that passed me while I was pulled over. They looked at me like I was nuts. BTW I still have to pay it.

Yeah, the Crown Vic is a nice car to drive but a horrible cop car for chasing. They are gear limited to just over 110 or 115 by Ford. 4.6 just isnt enough to get the heavy ass car moving. The cop car engine was not an upgraded unit. Maybe some districts had theirs modded, but Ford didnt upgrade the motor in special service packages(SSP).

My wife was arrested for getting caught doing 120+ in a 55. The cop made the stop as though she was eluding. She wasnt, but the fine was big none the less. Small town cop attitude in St Louis County. His Crown Vic couldnt catch up, and he had no radar on her. Like any intimidated female she plead guilty to her crime. :tweetz: didnt work this time.
