I suggest getting rid of the turbo shit, bumping the compression and running it n/a with a fogger. The bottle has no lag :snork_lac

GTxxR's are amazing. I plan on running a GT40R on my 1JZ. I haven't ridden in a GT series on a MKIII yet though, only a DSM.

James5oh

yes get a nice fast spooling turbo for fun on the street and do it quickly so you can start on the turbo charged cobra project.

so which turbo is the best, the gtxxr or sp61 bolt on

so which turbo is the best, the gtxxr or sp61 bolt on

heh. which is best? that depends on what you're doing....what your goals are....etc.

realize all of the garrett GT turbos are full "big ts" i.e. you need a new exhaust manifold, DP and plumbing. NOT bolt on like the SP61....

i'll probably be moving to a GT35R over the winter....

james- you in the detroit area?

Tireburner
10-18-2005, 10:27 AM
james from leamington

drjonez
10-18-2005, 10:33 AM
ah, gotcha.

Tireburner
10-18-2005, 10:37 AM
so you thinking about going gt35r hey . Thats cool u find another car yet to swap to.

drjonez
10-18-2005, 10:42 AM
yup, mostly for the useable power. you should spend less $$ and get something older/cheaper like a T66 or something since you'll just be drag racing...

yeah, i guess swapping chassis is cool. too bad it's so much work.

BTW- interested in a caged chassis? :crazy01:

Tireburner
10-18-2005, 10:44 AM
so you think a gt40 would be better then. Its cheaper and makes more power.

drjonez
10-18-2005, 10:47 AM
it's cheaper because of the lack of R which denotes full ball bearings.

10-18-2005, 12:52 PM
thanks for the info there drjonez, I proably will go with the sp61 bolt on

Tireburner
10-18-2005, 03:16 PM
yes i know but would still perform well and capable of a good power level. Which is why it would be good for drag racing i think. i wonder how spool up would be on the gt40 or gt42.

Tireburner
10-18-2005, 03:19 PM
yah how much for your chassis? I would be interested :D

drjonez
10-18-2005, 03:51 PM

yeeeps, should be fine w/o the BB. i think a GT42 is a bit too big....

yah how much for your chassis? I would be interested :D

all depends on what you want w/it....it won't have a drivetrain, interior, suspension or rear subframe....but i have most of that stuff laying around. we could probably work something out.

Tireburner
10-18-2005, 03:55 PM
I just want the chassis i got every thing else to put it back together. Just give me a price. Just email me

drjonez
10-18-2005, 03:57 PM

James5oh
10-19-2005, 09:33 AM
I'm a friend of robs from leamington. I was just giving him a hard time about noone replying at first. I say get the chassis as it will save you the hassle of putting a bar in the red car. I know why you were asking me about that other motor now and I say do it. will be one wicked ass car
