This thing is a piece of crap, worst $165 I've spent. It's already flaking, it doesn't line up very well, and every time I grab the thing, it just feels cheap.

The S3 shifter that HPF is selling is VERY nice! I got one just before I left for the 2004 Supras Invade Las Vegas and drove with it every day. WOW! Makes the shifts nice and quick. I've heard you don't want to go this route for drag racing as it will increase the risk for missed shifts. If you want quality you have to pony up some $$ though.

TWM shifters is supposed to be coming out with a short shifter for us MK3 owners. i haven't asked them lately but gave them a few calls this summer asking about it..

I guess the mounting holes don't line up and the tolerances for the pivot and bushings are off enough to make it have lots of extra force to change gears. I've heard of a number of people complaining -- although there are a few who say the work fine so it may just be a quality-control issue *shrugs*

I love mine, but I changed the way I installed it. I installed it first the way instructed and it wasn't working well for me. I re-installed it another way and now it's great. I use it every day.

Every supra owner that I have drive it (4 so far), instantly say "holy shit that is SHOOORT". It's so short of a shift that it takes you a week to get used to it.

Still $165, you paid way too much.

is it a short throw shifter or just a short shifter. if its just short, i dont want it. i think shorter shifters in the MK3 feel ergonomically wrong. the stock height is fine to me.

I love the short throw but hate the short height. Little tiny shifters are great when you are 18, but when you get old you want it to feel stock.

I'm going to make an adapter so that it sits like stock, then I'll be happy again :)

personally......., I like the short shifter effect. It makes it feel to me like I get from between gears more quickley. I am not sure that I would like it in my supra. I half to say....., I agree with turbo joe on this one. It's just my opinion and there is a reason it is free. It is nice to know that this particular model is a tird. Hell..., I just want to do things to the car that are going to keep it on the road.
