The car I'm going to be getting soon has this gauge either disconnected, or its not working.

From my research I have found that it measures the exhaust gas temperature, but I'm unclear on how to use that info.

I have several turbo/supercharged vehicles, but none have this, however I do have widebands on most of these vehicles, and understand how to read them, and what they are used for.
