WAY BEFORE: (Stock with mismatched blue/grey interior, torn center armrest, huge shifter, stock wheel, lots of missing/broken interior pieces)

BEFORE: Here are the pictures of my previous custom interior, I didn't like it because of the way rear looked, and there was more weight reduction behind the dash that could be done, so this interior did not satisfy me. This is how it looked the first time I redid it, and I just felt I could do better.

THESE PICTURES WERE TAKEN DURING THE MIDDLE OF MY 2ND TIME REDOING THE INTERIOR, car does NOT sit like this lol. Note that in the pictures the firewall sound deadener mats and tar hadn't been removed yet, wiring harness had not been trimmed, and I still had the carpet laid down etc.

:o Gutted interiors look like shit, leave it for the dragsters. The only reason mine was like this was to remove weight that cannot be seen and to redo the rest of the interior.

The only things I have left to do are wire in my stereo (Again), safc, get covers for the rest of the spaces in the dash, get a new black shift boot and a better shift knob (I hate metal), and sand and paint the strut towers in the rear where the sound deadener was (since carpet would look funky on it), and just general cleaning. Notice how you can see straight through to the firewall, and the carpet is redesigned for the contours of the metal, unlike before when it was just laid down. Easily over 100 hours into my custom interior, and after redoing it twice, I am VERY satisfied with my work, and will be even moreso when it is finished in the coming weeks.

Damn... what all did you do besides rip the interior out and put it back.

I removed everything behind the dash, hollowed out the dash and door panels so even though they'd be reinstalled, they'd be extremely lightweight. Also removed the a-pillars, headliner, dome light, panel under the glovebox, door sills that hold down the carpet, TONS of wiring, heater, heater core, blower, blower motor, climate control, center console supports, sound deadener black mats, tar underneath, etc.. The front doesn't APPEAR to have changed that much since the last time I redid the interior, because all of the changes were in the weight reduction behind it. The rear is where you can actually SEE the changes the most. It looked like shit before imo, and I'm very happy with it now.

Ah... cool. Any idea how much weight you took out?

Chris.

I should be under 3000 lbs. There is literally no more dead weight to be removed besides PS and EGR, and I can also still replace the flywheel/driveshaft with lightweight ones.

There's nowhere really close where I can weigh my car. It's funny cuz everyone else is more curious about it than I am.

I built my car to satisfy me, and that's what it does . I could care less about the lbs. it weighs in at, as long as I know I've done every bit of weight reduction possible, while still remaining an interior that gets complimented, and it's not even done yet.
