I am in an "engine on a budget" competition and need some ideas. we arent really building the engines but just testing the stats on Desk Top Dyno. We can start with any engine and have to at least do a basic ring job rebuild and then anything else we want for less than $1500. I was thinking about starting with a 2JZ-GTE just because it has the twin turbos but what are the best and cheapest mods to get the most HP? The formula we are using for the competition is (horsepower + torque)/engine displacement.

ALL THOUGHH... you get a 2jzge/r154, replace the head gasket to a metal one with ARP head studs and buy yourself a $1700 X-performance NA-t kit from clubNA-T.com and you got yourself at least 700hp for that cheap.


but i was hoping you would know of a $1500 1,000hp kit but i guess not. shocker.
