Im trying to figure out how to line my dist up the tsrm says to line up the indented line with the notch on the gear but thats for a 1990 and as far as I can see there are no distinguishable marks on my gears however there is a circle indention is that what I line up. Any help would be appreciated as the marks I made got cleaned off. Got everything back together after repairing a BHG and trying to time it, it runs but not good enough yet to throw a timing light on it. I must be like a tooth or so off cause its not good within the adjustable range of the dist.
It's been a while since I've dealt with mine, but IIRC you can align it using the hole with the pin through the shaft to align it. Another method would be to line up the rotor with the #1 position on the cap. If you're a tooth off it'll run, but it'll run like crap... but at least you know you're close.
HEH, wow... just noticed the date... been dead here lately or what? :P

Thanks I finally got on alldata and your right its the hole with the pin and then line up the middle of the houseing with the bolt hole and your good to go. Turns out I was doing it right to begin with but it seemed like it was out of time or something cause of a small 1/4" rip on the underside of one of my vacuum hoses and that was making it run like poo. amazing what a little ether spraying will so you. Thanks
