Thanks for joining! I don't know any real common issues with either Gen of car. Solid beasts.

The most common issue I've heard about on the 7MGE series (including turbos) is the factory head gaskets were torqued light and tend to go relatively early. Also head from an old Toyota mechanic that if the cams last to 60K, then they are good forever, but around that time they may or may not need replacing. I like my gen III a lot. Manual throw is a little long for a sports car in my opinion, but solid cars. Very solid.

Also just watch out for the ones you find with high mileage, like 80,000 and above, cause gaskets will start going. My water pump gasket was blown when I got mine and I didn't even realize it until I noticed I was slowly losing coolant. It's an easy fix if you know what you're doing. Another easy fix for a problem that you might run into is those valve cover gaskets. The throttle body and intake is on top, but once you get all that out of the way it's not such a pain. Other than that just make sure things work, unless its like the trunk latch or some switch that you don't really mind if the rest of the car is nice. Have fun man.
