Ok so im getting a white supra going to add links to my photobucket of the car and give some info on it..
So i get a call from a family member about a supra for sale, ask the price its a grand, so i say yeh ill take it when i get income tax ill purchase it then whats wrong with it?... well the motor is torn apart (head is taken off and been ported/polished and valve job... the bottom end is in dire need of a new set of forged pistons and some honing and extruding..., i ask the family member what he thinks about the car he says to me if i want it to get it its a steal... the car is a 5 speed w/ leather (dont know much about supras yet)
white w/ stock white wheels on it and new rubber all the way around... family member states that he had did a head at his old shop he worked for that was a japanese import twin turbo head (unsure about what type) he said he had roughly 35-40 hours into the head that a man had dropped off for getting ported and polished and never came back to get the head.. the car is NON turbo but if i can find a decent setup i would turbo the car...
so heres the pics and i really wanna leave stock wheels on the car but im unsure if they are gonna be worth it or do i just go ahead and purchase new rims/tires?

I Know hes a Family member and i dont wanna sound rude.. but i wouldnt spend 1000 on a NA supra.. The body is in ok condition. if the car ran then maybe 700. I dont know if he put a 1jz head or a 2jz head on it. But Pics of the engine would be great. Trust me i got a 89 white supra for 500 and it ran it was aslo a GTE

hmm so its truly not worth a 1000 given the new tires on it the head that came with the car and the head that is on the motor itself?? im going to completely rebuild the motor with new forged pistons and oil pump water pump and everything else..., also would like to state he doesnt own the car his friend owns and is selling it to me at that price

A car that dont run is a Shell with wheels on it. It worth nothing.. Again Rebuilt motor really dont mean anything. will it run when you buy it or will it not that the question at hand. a NA supra is not worth 1000. in my books. Again this is what i think. Supra's are a peice of work. they need alot of TLC and alot of money to keep them running.I hope this helps and if you do buy it Gl HF and drive safe

it wont run when i buy it it was going to be a d/d and non turbo until i decide what i want to buy next...

I would say $500 no more, and you will still have to spend a couple grand to get it running and in decent shape. you could find a decent good running N/A for 1500-2000. But keep in mind you'll probably want to turbo it anyways, might as well just find a turbo supra that needs a little work. Good luck.
