Product: HK$ 2.0mm Bead Metal Head Gasket
Place Purchased: Suprasport (~4 years ago)
Price Paid: $220 USD
Application: 87-92 Supra Turbo.
Highlights: Much stronger than BHG-prone composite gaskets
Rating (1-10, 10 being best): 8
Installation Difficulty (1-10, 10 being difficult): 10 (pull and disassemble engine, machine head and block, reassemble)
Installation Tips: Make absolute certain that the head is flat before machining. Machine both the head and block to as smooth of a finish as your machine shop can do.
Additional Comments: My engine block had deep pits requiring more maching than normal (hence the 2.0mm choice). The HKS headgasket has 2 coolant ports per side for each cylinder. The block only has 1 coolant port on the intake side. Minor complaint I suppose, but the Greddy MHG lines up perfectly with the block... The MHG has held nicely and survived the occasional blown coolant hose without issue.
