: Huge NW Supra Spring/Summer Event

I'd like to see who would be interested in a HUGE NW Supra Event (this coming Spring or early Sumer). I've thought about organizing an event each year but was too busy growing my business. There are now many things in place that would make a venture like this much easier for me (e.g. our own forum, a lot of connections, a Supra that runs 9's, etc.) I was thinking about carving out some time and money to create something like this. If I do, I'd like to schedule it away from all other holidays and import events which would place it sometime in April/May/June. June would be better just for weather sake. I'd like to host it in Portland since we can obviously offer the dyno, and have an easy shot to drag racing and a road course. It is also centrally located for the NW. I'd like to allow other Super cars including Vipers and Corvettes.

I'd like to gauge the interest level. If you think you'd be interested, please respond to this thread.

Chris.

I'm down for it, maybe I can pick up a few parts while I'm down there too.

Is this going to be a "Supra meet" or a "Super Car meet". I'd show up if it was supras, but not a Supercar shootout... seeing that my car currently is not a supercar...

It says its a NW supra event so I'm "assuming" its a supra thing. But its all good though as long as there is food, cars, and girls, it will be a good time lol. plus its portland so I'm sure a curious viper or lambo owner will want to know whats going on with all the big wings. Sorry no offense to the mk3 guys lol.

If my car is back together I'd make the trip down.

I can leave it just a Supra meet, but it is often fun to see some high HP Vipers and Vettes competing with us Supra guys.

Don't get me wrong, I like the competition as well. But If I'm going to drive down to Portland I'd like to see tons of Supras, mk1, 2, 3, and 4's!! What was the event at the end of july in portland? I didn't have my car yet so I didnt make it but would of liked to. I'm sure it was an annual thing so won't there be another somewhere else in the NW?? So yes another huge Supra event would be excellent!!! Nothing better than a 3 or 4 hour cruise to some good times with good Supra people!!

Chris,

If you put on an event I will be there :snork_tan I will bring all of our shop cars and let all our customers know! Sounds like fun... We will be putting on some kind of event around that time also, so I will coordinate accordingly.

You might consider this: Call it a Supra event but then invite anybody with a supercar to come too. That way we get more cars attending. I love Supras and think they are a super great car but personally I just loves cars and it will make it more interesting if other cars are allowed to attend. Or why not consider calling it a Supra & Musclecar Event and put a lower horsepower number (maybe something like 250-300RWHP for cars other than Supras) on for participants but at the same time invite anybody that is a car nut to attend. If you are having it at your place then you could mark off the front parking or have parking attendants directing cars so the participant cars park in the front and the attendees park down along the side a little ways back from the front. That way all of the participant cars would be in the front for good picture taking...haha...

If YOU really want to do it up "brown" have it be a Cruise in, Dyno and Eating and whatever else you might do at your places of business on Saturday and then have PIR all day long on Sunday with track racing say from 9AM to 1PM and then drag racing the rest of the day from 1 or 2PM on. Or you could switch days and be at the track on Saturday and maybe work the drag racing part in conjunction with the regular night time drag racing. Only the cars that were to be participants of the Supra & Musclecar Cruise In Event could be on the track for the track racing that starts at 9AM and the drag racing that would start at 1PM or so. Then let the drag strip open at it's regular time for the Saturday night drags with those of the Supra & Musclecar Cruise In could continue to drag race if they wanted to.

An event like this could turn out to be a great annual event that would draw a huge bunch of super cars and a nice crowd of people. Portland needs an event like this!!! :snork_lac :snork_lac :snork_lac

Good suggestions everyone. I'll keep you all posted. I'll still have to see if I can get the participation up enough to warrant something like this.

Take care,
Chris.

Sounds like fun, but might be too close to the annual PacNW Supra Nationals. People might not be able to make it to both. Since I only live by Seattle I could probably make it though :)

The Vegas meet was awesome this year. I doubt we could get that kind of turnout up here. I think I'm going to have my car actually running this year so I can be at some of the already planned events like PacNw supra nationals or the Torquefreaks dyno days.

Hmmmm... Huge annual NW Supra Event? Sounds like the PacNW Supra Nationals.

Established in 2003 we held our first event in Seattle and drew ~60 Supras. That event had Drags, Dyno, Show, Drive, and Dinner.

In 2004 this event was held in Boise Idaho and this year it was in Portland - drawing ~50 Supras.

This event is moving into the fourth year and we are looking for a host - I have heard rumors that our neighbors to the north would like to hold this event in Vancouver Canada for 2006.

Wow! That would be worth the drive. I'm getting so buried these days that I'm not sure I want to deal with an entire event.

Well, wherever it is, we'll be there.
You should do it on May 1st, because that's my birthday, and what better reason to get a bunch of car nuts together but to celebrate my birthday?
