i just got an 88 toyota supra with 7mgte motor. and i drove it 2 hours home no problems parked it over night went to work came home went to pull it in the carport to clean it up and it wouldnt start. i got it to start and all it would do is idle and a ruff one at that if you gave it gas it would shut off then i cleand some sensors and i got it to run a little. so now if you hold the rpms at about 2 it surges but if u go higher it stops surging but you can still hear it breaking up and it is running very rich i checked my spark and it is getting good spark, i changed mass air flow sens that didnt change anything,i also found a nice exhaust leak right where the down pipe and the exhaust meets so i dont know if that has anything to do with it,i am new to turbo systems. i did check my fuel pump and it is working great but i havent checked the fuel filter yet looks like a job to get to.

the guy told me he put a jdm motor in it but i dont know how to tell if it really is, how do i tell. and what the heck is going on with my car so if any one knows please help

Whoever told you to put a jdm engine in your supra is a f ucking DOLT.

I think this could be many things but it sounds to me like you have jumped timing somehow.

that is what i thought but i checked my timming marks and they are dead on but i need to check if the piston is top dead center

the guy didnt tell me to put the jdm motor in it , it was in it when i got it he told me that it was a jdm motor in it .

You may as well gear up for a build of monumental proportions.
Start buying what you have to have now, along with keeping it on the road.
It's the closest thing to a sure thing you can bet on.

JDMs have to be re-built before installation.
