Alright. there were 4 or 5 of us out camping at a state park in arkansas. We were still in High School so this was back before 1992.
We took our poles to go cat fishing and never did. Well a 12 pack later I decided to be swift and I went and got my pole. I outfitted it with the most gnarley treble hook I could find.
We were roasting hot dogs and playing guitar. So I loaded up said hook with the end piece of my hot dog and bun with all of the fixings and threw it out into the woods.
My buddies were all like what are you doing. I told them I have heard something out there walking around all night long. So I realed in the slack set the rod with a catfish bell and went back to drinking.
Some time later..., hard to say how long, the bell on the pole started ringing.
I ran over and grabbed it and when I set the hook..., nothing.
Now I was about to give up. And The bell went off again so again I set the hook and low and behold this time I had myself a critter. No idea what it was.
I started realing it up out of the woods. It got to the campsites edge and we could see the beast.
It saw us and went crazy. I had realed it in because I had a pole that was very sturdy. This coon chased all of my buds' into the auto and they locked me out. This racoon was at the end of my pole, I climbed onto the hood of the car.
Never have I heard anything hisssss and yowel like this coon it was pissed.
Even after I cut the line it hung around and made me stay on the hood of the car for a while and finally wondered off. I know it sounds mean but if you delete that part, then it's hillarious.:rock_band
