I'm in Fort Worth, which is in the Central part of Texas. From what I've heard, the storm won't be as bad for us, just heavy rain and strong wind.

yeah, but they're saying it might fizzle to a "mere" category 4 before landfall

It's been downgraded to a category 4, but is starting to spawn feeder bands which have tropical-storm level winds. These are already hitting the LA coast as the hurricane looks to land on the TX/LA coastal border

Morristown is about 30 minutes northwest of knoxville. I have been to Johnson City a couple of times, dont rermember much about the place only that ive been there. Have you ever gone to Gatlinburgh or Sevierville near Dollywood?

Well I am just so delighted that it is now a Cat 3 hurricane, and not a 4 or 5!.
It was at its max packing 175 MPH sustained winds, now that number has dropped to 125 MPH winds.

I would have hoped for it to go back out to sea, but I know it has little chance of doing that.
Maybe it can still weaken though. Come on category 2! That would be awesome if it drops to a cat 2 before landfall.

*My info is based on this site, if anyone wonders:

It's making landfall now. Thankfully as a 3, but there will still be damage done -- that I'm sure
