Oh and the P.O. put on some generic front strut bar and a shitty 'performance' exhaust. And a cone filter

Its a Burns stainless steel canister. Yes the car was just about completely taken apart. the interior is apart because I stripped out all the sound deadening material and its going to be getting caged and get new black carpet. Then Ill be pulling the motor to bling it up and paint the bay as well as the rest of the car.

Now that I'm married I've completely cut back on upgrading my Supra. I'll get back into it a little way down the road when we're more financially established. At least my wife really likes my car, so I've got that going for me.

JDM NA engine in '89 Turbo (yes it causes problems: high compression + boost = valve clatter/backlash - I had to back off the timing)
I had to replace the original engine, and I got screwed by Colorado Japanese Engines. I paid for a complete turbo JDM short block (w/turbo & manifolds) and got a bare NA short block w/no accesories at all and they never answered the phone and eventually disappeared completely. So I've been running a NA block with turbo for about 2-3 years now.
Good news is last year I bought an almost-new JDM turbo engine complete with both manifolds, turbo, and all engine electronics for $900 + shipping. I am still working on getting that one going. I had the head machined & cleaned, in preparation for the nice Greddy 1.5mm MHG that I have for it. I'm gonna put together the engine w/MHG before I do the swap

Fully blueprinted rods, mains and aux shaft spec'd at 1.4 thous clearance. Stainless oil feed line from pump to block. Stock flywheel and damper. ARP Rod bolts, main studs, head studs. Cometic 1.4mm headgasket.
In design is the head:
Port matched intake and exhaust ports. Blended bowls, rounded intake and knifed exhaust valve dividers. Unshrouded 2jz valve seats blended into the bowls. 1mm oversize ferea 2jz valves. 9mm 264 duration custom grind cams.
RB26 ITBs with 4 inch plenum.
In posession is the new Turbo kit:
Ceramicoated Trust header, Ceramicoated hot and cold sides IHI-RHC7 Turbo, Trust type-R wastegate, Stainless Wastegate and oil lines.
Soon to fabbed is the 4" downpipe and exhaust.
It's fun as hell now, we beat most modded Cts we run into, and it should be mean as hell when the rest of it comes together.
