I think you can. I say this because I see guys putting this engine into their mk III's and a MK III engine will go into a MK II. I think I have seen this swap somewhere on the web. Boy the MK II better be in good shape to handle all those horseys! I am just going for a 7MGTE in my Mark II.

Here is someone who put a 1JZ into a Mark II. I get the idea it is quite a bit tougher than the 7MGTE swap.
