: what God intended when He made the Supra
Nick 95 6sp 03-28-2006, 08:44 AM I'm taking the liberty to post this since I haven't heard a buzz around here about this outstanding world-class Supra performance.
Sure, it can go fast in a straight line / drag race but that kind of action barely scratches the surface of what a well prepped Supra is capable of in the right hands, as was demonstrated very emphatically at Road Atlanta during NASA time trials a couple weekends ago where the GSC Supra totally creamed all comers ...lots of verbage and buzz about this, too, besides the vid in case you're interested.

supramacist 03-28-2006, 09:49 AM I watched it twice. there are places where the driver seemingly isn't on it as hard as I think he could have been...., I felt like I didn't get to see him drive till he started lapping everyone. Nice ****ing video man.
Nick 95 6sp 03-28-2006, 01:37 PM The driver was Leh K driving Greg C's very well prepped Supra, Leh drives professionally in a Grand Am Cup Porsche, I think it was Sebring this year where he came in second. Based on the fact that his lap times at this Road Atlanta event were SOOOOO much faster than has ever been achieved in any kind of car even remotely close to that class, it is doubtful there was much more he could do. But there is probably always room for improvement I'm sure. Pretty soon, with even better stronger brakes, they will be at Roebling to kick more serious butt.
supramacist 03-28-2006, 05:04 PM I wasn't knocking your guy at all. I could tell he was working it. It was nice. Matter of fact..., i'm going to watch it again.
Nick 95 6sp 03-29-2006, 09:19 AM No fret, different opinions and perspectives are good. And I didn't take it that way, and anyway, it's not me driving and even he'd probably say always room to try harder. That's why they're doing stronger brakes now, he said they felt marginal in some spots like after long, high speed straights where hard late breaking can knock ticks off the lap time. Of course this was already a non-stock moded brake system but they're looking for even better.
supramacist 04-01-2006, 10:11 AM I"m an na supra and I am thinking brembo just for the street use.
93dawg 04-01-2006, 12:05 PM Most of what I say is WOW!!! It is pure pleasure to ride inside with that driver. He is good and it is good to see a Supra perform like that. With the HP they are using he really gets away from the other cars in a hurry... I wish I could drive like that.
That is a superb video... Thanks Nickie me boy for posting this video...
supramacist 04-01-2006, 01:30 PM Ya......, It was tight.., I may watch it again.
Nick 95 6sp 04-01-2006, 03:27 PM hey JimSr,
how are you, bud? I haven't seen you online in a while.
In case you don't know, Leh is driving Greg C's GSC Supra equipped with a 67mm turbo like yours, but he runs an O trim and I think maybe next size up a/r. It stirred up the blood of all the roadrace wanna bees like me too, and so now the locals around Road Atlanta vicinity are planning a Supra meet track weekend there, probably in Sept though it's not nailed down yet. I think quick Chris from up your way said he's coming. I know it is a huge haul, but it would be cool if you could come out for a short vacation and drag baby Jim out too with the latest and greatest BG smoothie ;) What's with his car, I haven't seen any update on it for ages?
Hagar 05-11-2006, 03:42 AM that car certainy moves and around the corners as well, i also thought he wasn't giving it all it could take but you cannot tell what the brakes are like from watching a clip and they would have been hard pressed when racing. how come it was so much faster than the other cars? i feel the engine had lots more to give but i assume he wants better brakes so as he can stop in time. that motor did perform well, exceptionally well so perhaps some bigger brakes.

I'm not sure how/why some of you guys think he's not giving it all he could. Is your opinion based on personal experience you have driving on road courses or just an "impression"? Could it be that he looks so smooth that you think he's not going full tilt? I don't know ...I'm not trying to be a smart ass or talk down to anyone, but based on my experience driving my Supra on road courses many times, to me he looks like he's absolutely flying. In support of that point of view as reinforced by very experienced track guys who were there, check out all the comments and facts about this event posted at the website of the organization that runs the event http://nasa-tt.com/Southeast_News You can hunt around the site and forum for more comments and info if you care to. The Supra's lap times with Leh driving where nearly unbelievable stunning achievements for Road Atlanta and beat the best lap times ever run by some very serious full blown race cars. And this car is Greg's daily driver, not a full blown race car, he refuses to make it "uncomfortable" for his normal street use. Some of the shit talking posts on that forum that developed immediately after the event and the accusations of cheating "or how could they have gone that fast?" have been pulled after it was all officially cleared up and proper credit and recognition was given to the driver, team, and car.
There is a significant Supra meet developing for this coming September at Road Atlanta and many Supra owners will be tracking their cars at this Panoz sponsored track event at that time. I hope to make it there myself, and if some of you guys could show up you can try out that track and see how good you can do and how much fun it is to use your Supra for all of its capabilities.
boostin89 05-11-2006, 01:57 PM I think that video was sick, and that was def some kickass driving, good ****ing stuff thats all i have to say. :w00t:
supramacist 05-11-2006, 02:56 PM the video, I watched again and is still INSANE. He just laps em and pass's em. I don't know why anyone needs to get overwound by the peanut gallery comments for f uck sake.
Yo :flame: u all herd them on the dyno obviously the car is the stuff that dreams ar either made or buried in.
StickyRice 11-08-2006, 10:20 PM I went faster with my supra on RA in forza motorsports on the xbox lol. I love that video make me wish my car was a six speed so I can do some of that. Oh well look like six speed swap is next on my list ;).
supramacist 11-09-2006, 12:03 AM The only thing mine is missing when it's running is 6th gear. I'm always grabbing at fifth tho shift into fifth. It's already there and it feels like 4th gear to me. I don't know the top end I have only had to 100mph twice, And it was still going.
Nick 95 6sp 11-10-2006, 08:07 AM Since you guys brought this thread back from the dead, I'll take the liberty to mention ...in case you don't already know... that Greg's GSC Supra with Leh driving will be in the One Lap of America in this upcoming event. With a solid well put together car and an awesome driver combo, they are very serious contenders.
dizahl 11-10-2006, 09:10 AM i liked the music. both songs.
supramacist 11-10-2006, 10:52 PM I remember this video it was really tight. It's funny watching some of you cats get all worked up. LOL
