i have 2 cars a 92 7mgte supra and 81 mazda rx-7 .
my rx-7 have an rb20det engine and i am looking for more powerfull engine so i have 2 engines to think about and i need your help comparing these engine, thay are 2jz-gte and ls1.
how much does a 2jz-gte weight???(the engine only with all accessory)

go with a rb25det otherwise. although a 2jz fb3 would be insane i have a 84 rx-7 also

Maybe I need someone to apprentice me as a mechanic for trade to work on my car. I know you guys are talking about engines but other than that I need a tutor. I need some serious hands on soon for a solid week.

what are your intentions with the car???

I know redmaine but you are the only person here wher hasn't herd about my car and I just didn't want to waiste everyone elses time. My biggest problem now is my old lady wants to sell the car and I am fighting to fox it yet again. no one ever told me and I never cled in to the fact that i would always be doing something to this ride. I knew I could if I wanted to....., But to make a long story short. The guy that sold it to me knew about things that were wrong internally. I asked all of the right questions..., He was just obliged to not disclose the entire truth. The car has been parked for a solid week broken down and not moving. I miss my car. It's a 91 mkIII.

blown head gasket. Engine leaks oil....., but I knew this and fed it properly. It's leaking about a half a qt a week. Pending on how drive it. Or i'm adding that much weekly depending on how you look at it. Sometimes there is a strange sloshing sound that always makes my girl all worried and shit when you can tell it's nothin going to do damage. Now the car is parked because my clutch took a dump because my rear main seal took a dump. Other than that bhg= mhg. Oh and ya....., I'm on a bit of a budget.

I was also told that the valve covers had to be tightened down about every 4 to 6 weeks. Is this bullshit or what???? because I have never herd of suck b ull s hit. Never in my life. I love this car but when is it you throw in the towel and find someone who will love it like you do??? I', also a non aspirated engine. 7mge.
I guess you don't have to tighten shit till you want to when it's broken down.

my goal is street racing mostly strate lines 0-400 or 40-400.
my rx-7 weight 2400 lbs stock i dont know how much it weights now with my rb20det but i feel it is not a light engine and i am heading for 2jz gte now so what do think !
how much my car will weight and any idea of my estmate 1/4 mile run with a stock 2jz?

i know that the ls1 is 40 pounds heavier than the stock rotory motor in the rx7.

jeeeez......, Imust have been up late and toking when I typed all of the afore stated. The Ls1 or a rotary engine....., I am not sure wich would be less expensive to work on. If I had to guess I would say the Ls1. More horse power and the parts are definitley going to be less expensive.
