Thanks for the congrats! I skipped all the numbers straight to the 8's. BTW, Ian isn't driving this car... 8.90, 8.54, 8.45.....Damn, my last 7 passes were all in the 8's and all in a row....

Congrats to Ian! He does all the leg work...you take his credit...what can I say...I'm shocked! I'm suprised your head can fit in an SFI helmet these days.

Another lame post from our #1 Hater. Ask Ian who did everything on the car this time around:)

Ian does deserve credit. It's his baby. All I did was put it together and drive it:)

Hey how quick and fast have you gone in 6 years with your Supra Jason? If you need help with your car let me know. I can give you some pointers on driving it too. I mean hey with every part on your car custom and NO off the shelf parts it should surely be running 7's by now right?

I'm out! Just thought I'd share the news:)

I'm not your number one hater......there are plenty of people ahead of me....I'm like 100+ or so..

I have had my car for 4 years, and only played with it for 2. Unlike you, I don't just copy everyone else's setup, and spend full time on it. My car hasn't even been down the track 20 times in it's life. You think drag racing is driving??? You couldn't out drive me on my worst day. Care to make a wager?? we'll go to any road coarse you like, autox or otherwise. Or...maybe you would hand me the keys to your supra and I'll beat your own time "first time out"

So just because a known engine was copied (or actually purchased from someone else) and mated to a known turbo...mated to a known transmission ...mated to a known converter.....mated to a gutted...lightened car....this is somehow....what....an innovation????

Now let me ask you this... would you rather have a setup that runs low 8's and is a fairly well known combo.... or a 100% custom innovated setup that has a hard time getting down the track?

Seems like a simple question to me... because that is why we do this right?? To go fast??

Your asking the wrong person...I don't like copying what has been done. So for me if you came up with 'x' to accomplish something, I would want to do a better job with 'y'. Especially when I can pinpoint serious drawbacks of the "proven" setups. To me I want a street car. A turbo 400 3spd trans is not a street trans for a Supra. I drive my car to Vegas once or twice a year (300miles each way). You aren't doing that with a 400, so I chose a 4spd auto that allows me to maintain the streetability. Lightening a car (essentially turning it into a race car, or trashing a perfectly good....very nice street car) also...not an option for me. I like driving the supra in all it's comfort, climate control, power seats, etc...

No...it is not why we do this. It may be why you do it. The beauty of the Supra is it is a kick ass STREET car. Not a kick ass drag car. If I wanted a kick ass drag car, the Supra wouldn't even be in the top 10. If you wanted a gutted car that can go run 8's, you could do that with a twin turbo Camaro or a mustang on pump gas, and still have a better drag/street car than a gutted Supra. So copying someone elses success, and calling it "the first time out" is a bit rediculous. The only difference between Ian's car and Dana's car is that Ian's car is alot lighter, has more displacement, and is a tick quicker...for now.

seems a mid 8 second auto supra is becoming more and more common these days. still VERY impressive. i can't wait until more of the unlimited auto supra's start competing in true 10.5 racing like BL has done.

Sorry for digging up an old post, and in a moment you will see why.

I searched google, looking for info for a 4L80e into a supra. It seems jason is one of the few to ever do this/have this done. I am here to get in touch with Jason, BECAUSE he has something most other high hp supra's lack, an innovative combo utilizing an auto overdrive trans where it seems everyone and there mother has the turbo 400. I didnt search the net(nor does anyone else) to find a car making 1400whp in a 6 speed running 8's to ask for help or advice. Jason being innovative has led to multiple questions on his setup, as even on SF I was told "go seak Jason S if you want info on the swap"

Now that Im here, I am SO glad I found the site. I sure as hell hope it becomes large, with SUPRA members. Ill sure as hell be spreading the word. Can we mention the word ebay without being bludgended to death with rocks here? LOL
What about site sponserships?
