Sterling Stegall tries to rip us off.

Anybody know anything about a girl named Sterling Stegall who resides at 23906 Haynes Street, West Hills, CA 91307, or a shop named Safety Quality, Attn: Armin, 5925 Santa Montica Blvd, LA 90038, phone# 323.461.1610?

She ordered a Prelude Hotshot Headers Race H22 VTEC, for her 1994 Honda Civic with H22 engine swap. She ordered the parts from us and asked us to ship them to this shop. The shop says they installed them. Then she did a chargeback. Her phone # no longer works.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We're going to go after this person legally, however, it would be fun to see her expression if she had a note left on her 94 Civic that said, "The header in your car is now unpaid. Pay HorsepowerFreaks or face retribution." This might circumvent the legal process.

If anyone lives near the West Hills, this could be fun.

Get her license plate number from the shop that did the work and run it down through the DMV. Maybe that will give you some current information on her. Some people are such shitbags!! The shop didn't volunteer any info, other than to say it was a woman. We are still trying to win the chargeback (which we almost always do). If we do lose, then I'm going to go after her.

We just recently got a guy arrested in Oklahoma. We teamed up with a division of the police that goes after these people. It was awesome. Still haven't gotten any money back, but knowing they got arrested is good enough for me

Sterling Stegall was a young athlete at a local high school about 10-15 minutes north of West Hills, in a city called Chatsworth at Chatsworth High. I believe he played basketball Senior year 2003. That would make him graduate 2003-2004 and he would be 20 years old approx if this is who we are talking about.

Ok, Jay-Son is the son of Debra Scott. Apparently his girlfriend is the owner of the vehicle (Black 94 Civic). Maybe her last name is Stegall and is related to Sterling and that is why you are getting a chargeback. See the possible connection?

They ripped us off for $446.28 by doing a chargeback on their card after the parts were delivered to their shop and installed as per requested. Their shop # is 323.461.1610, and Armin (the shop owner) said, yea we got the part, we installed it on her car. It is over one Hot Shot H22 VTec header. I hate theives and they are probably doing the same thing to other businesses.

If you could convince them to settle their debt with us, that would be very nice. I'll even give you my cost on some parts. Just don't get yourself in trouble.

The reason i ask is because something odd happened today. Someone by the name of John Stegall (may be related to Sterling Stegall) placed a large order with us. He lives in Laguna Hills, CA which is about 75 miles from the Sterling address of West Hills, CA. It's just odd since he's the only person to ever order from us with the last name Stegall except for Sterling.

Wow this is better than TV any day. I applaud anyone who helps a small business such as myself catch folks that rip them off. So far I haven’t been ripped off myself but the thought is always in the back of my mind every time I accept a check for my services. It would suck because I try and give my clients a service that they can’t find anywhere else. Keep up the great foot work and I hope the shop gets their hard earned money back.

When you can say more about this, I'm curious how you will play out this last situation. It can't imagine it can be a coincidence, it seems like they are trying to pull of some more fraud.

I just got off the phone with Chris. I never talked to Sterling or reappeared at that residence a second time. I could if necessary. Chris, you have my number, I'm your man!

Chris, for reference, I've had my own business for 9 years. I have encountered people with the same last name fewer than 4-5 times that I can remember. Definitely something to think about. Good catch whoever caught it.

Like I told you on the phone, if you need Recon work done in Laguna Hills, no worries, I'll handle it. I do need to go back to Sarkis's shop very soon, a trip to Laguna Hills is just a burnout here and a 1-2 shift there.

John Stegall checked out. We verified everything, he used multiple cards, everything on both cards checked out with the bank and with our AVS and CVV match, as well as his phone #. So I'm pretty confident this order is legit.

It could be a brother or father of Sterling who may have referred us. But we've covered our ass as far as chargebacks go on this order.

Anyway... I reversed the chargeback on Sterling. We'll see if she disputes it again. If so, I'll have to go after her legally.

Chris, something positive from all of this. Now I've talked to you personally, and when I need some parts, guess who will be the first to get the call.

A few years ago my brother did an engine/tranny swap for this kid from Arizona. The kid was in Oregon for a summer internship. I also sold the kid the header off my car and it went on with the new engine/tranny. Well the kid wrote a check and my brother deposited it. Since it was an out of state check it had a holding period. So the kid's internship was up and he drove home and on the way he called the bank and put a stop payment on the check.

So my brother's out the money for parts and labor and I'm out money for my header. So we called the kid up and I got on the phone and told him I didn't give a shit about the motor/tranny because that was my brother's deal but if I didn't get money for my header I'd fly down and kick his ass. He promptly sent a check for the header and it cleared :)

But for my brother to get his money we had to have a law firm threaten legal action. This kid was finishing up school and couldn't fly back and forth for court so they settled and he made payments, lol.

Great job Stealth, you're one crazy mofo! Just like you, I go above and beyond to get back at people who mess with my friends and I.

It's amazing the stuff you can dig up about people and it scares the shit out of them when you present it to them :)
